What's New at I♥️ Cards
What I've been building, fixing, and shipping. Real updates, no marketing speak.
Build More Complex Card Layouts With Containers

You can now build card templates by grouping elements such as a title and an icon into a container. This makes it easier to create cards with badges or rows of icons. Thank you Nathy for the suggestion!
What you can do
- Add containers to organize several elements (text, icons, images, etc.) into a flow-based layout
- Add the container in the sidebar, drag and drop elements into it
- Add containers both in sections and in overlay or background layers
- Cycle through nested items by clicking multiple times in the preview
- Style your containers like any other element in the template builder (color, spacing, etc.)
What you can't do
- Add containers inside containers
Save Export Settings on Each Deck

You can now save default export settings for a particular deck. Set up a deck once for the way you usually print or download it, and the download center will start with those choices next time. Thank you Cat for the nudge!
What you can do
- Save preferred export settings for a specific deck
- Reuse the same setup for repeat PDF, PNG, or print exports
- Prepare one deck for home printing and another for a print shop without reselecting everything each time
- Open the export dialog with the deck's defaults already selected
Why this matters
It saves your time, your don't have to select the same settings every time you export a deck. This is also useful for the deck you share with your customers, you can set up the default settings for them so they don't have to select everything every time they export a deck.
Find the Decks You Own More Easily
Your customers have a better place to store the decks that you shared with them. Their deck library is accessible without a paying account.
As a reminder, deck that your create are stored in the "Decks I Created" page in /create/decks and decks that are shared with you are stored in the "My Deck Library" page in /own/decks.
Shared Deck Links Are More Reliable
I fixed a bug with shared deck links that was causing the deck you were trying to access to be lost after the sign-in step. Now, I Love Cards remembers the deck you were trying to access and brings you back to it after the sign-in step. Thank you Cat for the report!
Improvements
- Shared deck claims are preserved through login
- Shared deck claims are preserved through signup
- Email confirmation now keeps the original deck access flow
Why this matters
This makes shared decks easier to use for students, clients, workshop participants, and anyone receiving a deck for the first time.
A new location for the template toolbar
Mehdi mentioned that the toolbar in the Template Builder was getting in the way of the preview area, and I had been feeling that pain too. So I reworked the layout to keep the tools easy to reach without covering the card itself.
Improvements
- Item toolbar moved to the top of the preview window, where it stays easy to access without getting in the way of the card
- Zoom toolbar moved to the bottom of the preview window for a cleaner editing layout
- Save button moved into the header of the sidebar, right next to the template title
Bug fixes
- Tens of minor bug fixes and optimizations across the app to make everything feel smoother and more reliable
Large Decks Feel Much More Fluid
If you work on larger decks with tens or even hundreds of cards (I just finished a 130 cards deck), the editor should now feel much more responsive.
This update is all about fluidity: less waiting when opening heavier views, less friction when jumping between cards, and a smoother experience when many cards reuse the same design setup.
Improvements
- Faster switch to table view: opening the table editor for larger decks should now feel much quicker instead of pausing for several seconds first
- Faster card selection in table view: clicking a row and jumping to the selected card is now much more immediate, especially in bigger decks
- Smoother work with many repeated templates: decks where lots of cards reuse the same template now avoid a lot of unnecessary loading work behind the scenes
- Better preview toggling in table view: showing or hiding the preview area above the table is now lighter and more fluid
This is another step toward making larger, more content-heavy decks feel comfortable to edit inside I Love Cards.
Better PDF Exports for Professional Print Shops
I have improved the quality of the PDF exports so you can now use I Love Cards with almost any pro print shop more confidently.
Features
- New printing guides: we've added learn pages to help you understand the basics and prepare files with more confidence
Improvements
- Better compatibility with professional printing requirements: media box, bleed box, crop box embedded in the PDF. Crop marks now use registration color.
White-Label Shared Decks for Your Audience
This is a huge update. It opens up a much more powerful way to distribute decks to your audience.
You can now create multiple sharing links for the same deck, which means different people can get different levels of access depending on what you want to offer. And once they receive the deck, they can personalize parts of it for their own use.
That includes changing colors, swapping a logo, or updating selected text fields to better match their own brand, context, or audience.
Thank you Cat, for the feedback and suggestions that led to this update!
Features
- Multiple sharing links for one deck: create different links for different offers, audiences, or access levels
- More flexible access: give people more or fewer features depending on the link you share
- Personal color changes: recipients can adjust the look of the deck to better fit their style or brand
- Personal content changes: recipients can update selected text and image areas, such as a logo or key text field
Why this matters
This makes white labeling possible.
You can now distribute premium decks that other people can adapt to their own needs.
More Ways to Style Your Card Designs
The template designer has been updated with a few new features and improvements. You can thank Mehdi for the feedback and suggestions that led to these improvements!
Features
- Better card borders: you can now adjust the border width and corner radius.
- Patterns everywhere: before only available in the sections, you can now add patterns to shapes and text boxes.
- New handwritten-style font.
Large Decks Now Work More Smoothly
This update is less flashy, but if you work with large decks with hundreds of cards, the experience should feel smoother.
I realized that while working on a 130 cards deck, the editor was getting slower and slower, so I made a quick fix to improve the performance, but you can expect more performance improvements soon!
Improvements
- Fixed a bug where the deck editor would not load properly for large decks with lots of content
