I Love Cards, But I Hate Subscriptions
You know what's worse than paying for software? Paying for it every. Single. Month. Forever. I'm breaking up with subscriptions. Pay once, use for life. No monthly bills to dread. No features held hostage. This is how software should work.
How I Think About Pricing
Three principles that guide how I charge for I♥️Cards. No hidden agendas, no fine print surprises.
No Subscription Trap
One payment, lifetime access. Your license doesn't expire, downgrade, or vanish. No renewal emails haunting your inbox. This is how software should work.
Pay for What You Use
Platform access is lifetime. Optional add-ons (AI credits, premium packs) cost extra—but only if you want them. Don't like AI? Don't pay for AI. Simple.
Aligned Incentives
If you sell through your own channels, I take nothing. If you use a future marketplace, I take a fair cut—because then I'm incentivized to drive buyers to your decks. Win-win.
Questions You Might Have
Or: Things I wish other companies would be upfront about.
Really. Pay once, lifetime platform access. I charge for software the old-fashioned way: you give me money, I give you access, and we're both done. Optional add-ons (like AI credit packs) are also one-time purchases - never subscriptions. No monthly panic about whether you're "getting your money's worth."
Exactly. There's nothing to stop paying. Your access doesn't expire, downgrade, or disappear. As long as I♥️Cards exists, you're in. No renewal emails. No "your subscription expired" panic. One payment, done.
Let's be honest: this is a web service, not desktop software. If I♥️Cards goes away, so does your access. BUT - I've been running STORMZ (my previous platform) for 14 years and counting. I don't build things to abandon them. Your success is what keeps the lights on, and I'm committed to keeping them on for the long haul. Also, perspective: at €149, you're paying what some platforms charge for a single month. Even if you only use it for a year, you're winning.
Yes. Every feature, every improvement, every tool I add to the platform - it's yours. For the lifetime of the platform. I'm not going to create "I♥️Cards 2.0" and charge you again. Optional content packs (AI credits, premium templates, etc.) are separate, but the platform itself and all its features are included. Forever.
Because you're taking a chance on me while I'm still growing this platform. Fair trade: you get a massive discount (€200 off), I get early adopters who help me build something great. After early access ends, the price goes to €349. That's the one-time lifetime price, not a monthly fee.
Smart. Start a free 7-day trial. No credit card required. Create real decks, test all the tools, get a genuine feel for the platform. You can't export or publish during the trial, but you have plenty of time to decide if it's right for you. If you buy, everything you created is yours to keep. If not, walk away. I won't follow you around the internet with creepy retargeting ads.
Good question. Your lifetime license covers all the platform tools and features forever. But things that cost me real money to provide (AI API calls, premium template packs, icon libraries, illustrations) are available as optional booster packs. One-time purchases, never subscriptions. Buy what you need, skip what you don't. Don't like AI? Don't pay for AI credits. Simple. This keeps the platform sustainable and ethical - you only pay for what you actually use and value.
Yes. Create card decks for your business, your clients, your Kickstarter. Sell your decks. Make money with them. I don't charge you per-user or any of that nonsense. If you sell through your own channels, I take nothing. In the future, I may add a marketplace with payment processing - if you use that, I'll take a fair cut. Why? Because I'll be incentivized to drive buyers to your decks. Win-win.
Updates are free forever. Support is included. I'm not going to create a "Premium Support Tier" or charge you to talk to me. If something breaks, I fix it. If you have questions, I answer them. Like a human.
Hi, I'm Alexandre. I'm a facilitator and trainer who's been using card decks in workshops for over a decade. I've created custom card games and serious games for my clients, and I know firsthand how powerful a well-designed deck can be. I'm also the creator of STORMZ, a workshop facilitation platform I've been running and maintaining for 14 years. I♥️Cards combines my passion for cards with my experience building and sustaining SaaS platforms. This isn't a side project - it's the intersection of everything I do.
No catch. This is just how I think software should work. I make something useful, you pay for it once, everyone moves on with their lives. Revolutionary concept in 2025, I know.
