Print & Play FAQ
Quick answers before you export.
Print and Play means you receive a digital file and print the cards yourself. Instead of buying a physical deck, you print the PDF at home or at a print shop, cut the cards, and start using them. This generator simply arranges your card images into a printable layout.
Upload your card images, choose the card size and layout settings, then export the PDF. The generator automatically arranges the cards onto printable pages so you don't have to manually place them in a design tool.
PNG or JPG files work best. For good print quality, use high-resolution images. Cards designed around 300 DPI usually produce the best results when printed.
The card size defines the final trimmed size of the cards after cutting. You can choose common presets like mini, poker, or tarot size, or enter your own custom width and height.
Bleed is extra artwork that extends beyond the final edge of the card. It prevents white borders after cutting. If your card design already includes bleed, enable the bleed option and specify the bleed size. If your design stops exactly at the card edge, leave it disabled.
Most home printers cannot align front and back pages perfectly when printing double-sided. Even a small shift can occur. This tool allows you to compensate for that by adjusting the front/back alignment offset.
If your card backs appear slightly shifted compared to the fronts, you can adjust the alignment shift values. These settings offset the back side slightly to compensate for your printer’s alignment error.
Standard Grid prints cards in rows and columns for traditional double-sided printing. GutterFold places the front and back of each card next to each other so you can fold the page first and then cut the cards. This avoids duplex alignment issues.
Crop marks are small lines printed around each card that show where to cut. They help you trim the cards accurately after printing.
Choose the paper format you plan to print on. A4 is common in most countries, while US Letter is standard in the United States.
The gap controls the spacing between cards on the page. A small gap makes cutting easier and prevents cards from touching during trimming.
DPI means dots per inch and controls the resolution of the exported PDF. 200 DPI works well for most home printing. 300 DPI produces sharper results and is recommended for professional printing.
Once your layout settings are configured, export the PDF. The generator will create a print-ready document with cards arranged according to your settings.
